I am a Teaching Assistant Professor at the Department of Government and Justice Studies at Appalachian State University. I teach American National Government and Politics and Political Psychology.

I am a political psychologist with a special interest in how citizenship practices are exercised and perceived. First, I study how citizens perceive others exercising their right to protest. My work broadens the scope of political tolerance research beyond individual characteristics, exploring how various contextual factors shape these perceptions. Second, I explore how various elements of citizenship shape political participation. My work investigates the understudied yet growing category of dual citizens and contributes to a deeper understanding of the dynamics of migration affecting the relationship between individuals and the state.

I received my PhD from the Department of Political Science at the University of Illinois. Here is my CV
